Warm-cool color-based high-speed decolorization: an empirical approach for tone mapping applications

چکیده

Grayscale images are fundamental to many image processing applications like data compression, feature extraction, printing and tone mapping. However, some information is lost when converting from color grayscale. In this paper, we propose a light-weight high-speed decolorization method based on human perception of temperatures. Chromatic aberration results differential refraction light depending its wavelength. It causes rays corresponding cooler colors (like blue, green) converge before the warmer red, orange). This phenomena creates warm "advancing" toward eye, while cool be "receding" away. proposed gray conversion model, implement weighted blending function combine red (perceived warm) blue cool) channel. Our main contribution threefold: First, using exact pixel by processing, report $5.7\times$ speed up compared other new algorithms. Second, our optimal produces luminance in that comparable state art methods which quantified objective metrics (E-score C2G-SSIM) subjective user study. Third, demonstrate an effective distribution can achieved algorithm global local mapping applications.

Color correction for tone mapping

Tone mapping algorithms offer sophisticated methods for mapping a real-world luminance range to the luminance range of the output medium but they often cause changes in color appearance. In this work we conduct a series of subjective appearance matching experiments to measure the change in image colorfulness after contrast compression and enhancement. The results indicate that the relation betw...

Dual Phase Detector Based Delay Locked Loop for High Speed Applications

In this paper a new architecture for delay locked loops will be presented.  One of problems in phase-frequency detectors (PFD) is static phase offset or reset path delay. The proposed structure decreases the jitter resulted from PFD by switching two PFDs. In this new architecture, a conventional PFD is used before locking of DLL to decrease the amount of phase difference between input and outpu...

Phase Frequency Detector Using Transmission Gates for High Speed Applications

In this paper a new phase-frequency detector is proposed using transmission gates which can detect phase difference less than 500ps. In other word, the proposed Phase-frequency Detector (PFD) can work in frequencies higher than 1.7 GHz, whereas a conventional PFD operates at frequencies less than 1.1 GHz. This new architecture is designed in TSMC 0.13um CMOS Technology. Also, the proposed PFD a...

SMQT-based Tone Mapping Operators for High Dynamic Range Images

In this paper, tone mapping operations based on the nonlinear Successive Mean Quantization Transform (SMQT) are proposed in order to convert high dynamic range images to low dynamic range images. A SMQTbased tone mapping applied on the luminance channel is derived as well as a SMQT-based method working directly on all RGB channels. Both methods are compared to other state-of-the-art methods and...

Dimming-discrete-multi-tone (DMT) for simultaneous color control and high speed visible light communication.

Visible light communication (VLC) using LEDs has attracted significant attention recently for the future secure, license-free and electromagnetic-interference (EMI)-free optical wireless communication. Dimming technique in LED lamp is advantageous for energy efficiency. Color control can be performed in the red-green-blue (RGB) LEDs by using dimming technique. It is highly desirable to employ d...
